Since Electronic Data Capture solutions entered mainstream use over 20 years ago they have provided a central point around which most data capture and processing for clinical trials has centred.To an initial tool that efficiently processed data from Case Report Forms (CRF) was added eSource and integrations with lab data, randomisation and Patient Reported Outcomes (PRO) solutions, and more. As the variety and volume of clinical trials data increases will EDC retain the primary position it has held, or will we see an evolution to new approaches, and if so what.
