Risk-Based Monitoring – The Role of Data Management

Course Trainer: Sue Fitzpatrick -Sue has more than 30 years’ experience within clinical research. She has been responsible for the management and audit of CRAs and clinical trials in a wide range of therapeutic areas. Sue was elected to the executive board of The Institute of Clinical Research in 1991 and is an honorary Fellow of The Institute. She was appointed as a Specialist Director of the Institute in 2010 and as Head of Education and Training she was responsible for the provision of training courses for the Institute and postgraduate courses in collaboration with Cranfield University, Edinburgh Napier University and was an honorary lecturer at Liverpool John Moore’s University. She currently holds a recognised teaching certificate at Cranfield University. Sue still continues her work with Universities but as a Consultant Trainer. Sue was a member of The Pharmaceutical Industry National Training Organisation and was instrumental in developing the first set of occupational standards for CRAs. Sue was a member of the GCP committee of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Medicine and helped develop a certification examination for physicians and other research personnel. She devised various world-wide examinations for the Institute. She has authored many articles and books on clinical research and career development topics. Sue is currently working on a book in Clinical and Healthcare Research for publication with the Oxford University Press
