ACDM 2020 Annual Awards
The Association for Clinical Data Management was delighted to announce the winners of the 2020 ACDM awards at the Conference Dinner of the ACDM20 Conference at Clontarf Castle, Dublin.
The 2020 ACDM Awards were sponsored by ICON and the full details of the award winners and runners up in each of the three award categories can be found below.
Individual Excellence in the Management of Clinical Data
WINNER
Vishal Kapoor, Terumo Europe
Vishal was recognised for leading the creation of a strategy Model for the interventional oncology therapeutic area focussing on AI for diagnosis, treatment and daily practice

Ian Slack, Vertex Pharmaceuticals
Ian Slack stands out for his innovative, and demanding approach to clinical coding and enthusiastically communicating his vision for coding and enabled accelerated product development.
Team Excellence in the Management of Clinical Data
WINNER
Accelsiors Team Armenia
The Accelsiors Data Management Team was established in late 2018 following the closure of an established team based in Budapest, Hungary. The new team was located in Yerevan, Armenia and was built on a small platform of 2 senior data management colleagues who were previously working from home offices.
Over the course of 1 year, the team has established an office, moved to a larger office, implemented a new EDC platform and more importantly, developed a strong team ethic based on mutual trust and support.
RUNNER UP
Clinfidence data management team
Nutricia Research outsourced the data management of a clinical study with preterm infants to Clinfidence due to lack of internal resources. The outsourced study was challenging due to the vulnerable patients and the vast number of data points we collect per patient. To take over this work, during mid-study was a big challenge. Clinfidence dealt with this difficult task extremely professionally and made sure that all data management tasks were taken over smoothly
Innovation in the Management of Clinical Data
WINNER
Clinical Informatics Research Unit from the University of Southampton
The Clinical Informatics Research Unit (CIRU) from the University of Southampton provide innovative informatics solutions to clinical research professionals. Their most successful creation is EDGE which is a cloud-based clinical trial management solution embedded within 80% of the NHS across the UK as well as now being utilised on a global scale in countries including Canada, Belgium and New Zealand

Vitaflo Data Management Team
The Vitaflo clinical operations team is a small team of four who manage all aspects of an expanding portfolio of clinical trials in a specialised clinical nutrition industry. 2019 saw the team take on the biggest data management challenge to date: the selection, development and implementation of an EDC and ePRO system to greatly improve our data collection,management and analysis; a process that, for the business, has historically been completed on paper.
