Hot Topics from ACDM

About ACDM Hot Topics

These are held online as ‘discussions’ focussing on a topic in Data Management. They are free for ACDM members (small fee for Non-Members).

As they are ‘discussions’ they are different to webinars and no presentation slides are prepared.

A person is identified to lead each session, together with a Chair, they drive the discussion with those who join call. Sometimes the sessions are recorded and/or summarised and shared with ACDM members.

Machine Readable Study Schedule of Activities (SOA) Definition

Date: June 25, 2021
Type: Hot Topic
Session Lead: Andy Richardson
Location: Online 12:00 – 13:00 UK Time
Learning Objectives:

The study protocol schedule of activities table (SOA, or events – SOE) continues as the principal method for defining the time points and assessments necessary to meet study objectives. Operational implementation into functional tools (EDC, CDMS, CTMS…etc) ready for study execution continues to require various degrees of specification duplication and manual interventions. Initiatives such as the CDISC 360 project, the Transcelerate Digital Data Flow project and HL7 FHIR all have SOA specification as a key project component with the stated aim of driving more efficient operational implementation. From a consideration of the key elements of the SOA – both explicit and implied – an approach to SOA specification will be discussed that can generate machine-readable SOA schedules with value for driving automated implementation. An example using the FHIR standards will be shown.

Who is this suitable for?
